Thank You Motorcycle Superstore!

One of our orders from Motorcycle Superstore automatically entered us into a contest. Second prize was a new set of tires. Guess who won second prize! All we had to do was to pick the tires we wanted. After some research, I decided to try the Dunlop Geomax MX71. These tires just look cool. The tread design is directional, and the rear is asymmetric. Having an asymmetric design helps to bite the terrain in slightly different places as the tire spins instead of digging the same spot of ground. The lugs on this tire are big and it's said to have more tread volume (greater land/sea ratio) in the shoulders for excellent cornering grip. It's a hard terrain tire, and it's designed to resist tread block tearing. The downside of a directional tire is that they can not be reversed to gain a better bite after the edges round off. The knobs seem big enough that they could be cut several times however to get the same effect. I guess I'll see how they perform this weekend! The price was right anyways.
