Bountiful Canyon, Lower Loop

The snow has melted off enough in Bountiful Canyon to ride the lower trail. This trail travels along a ridge South of the main canyon road. The trail starts at about 5,080 feet and climbs to over 7,000 before it intersects with the main canyon road. At this point you can either turn around and go back the way you came, or return down either the main canyon or do as I did and take the small dirt shelf road as indicated on the below map. I made this map using the tracking feature on my Garmin e-trex venture GPS then importing the data to google maps. Click on the points for waypoint data and/or snapshots as indicated. I ride this trail occasionally after work because of it's close proximity. Usually, I'll do about around 4 laps sometimes taking different spurs. The trail as mapped from start to end is around 5 1/2 miles. Today I rode about 20 miles in roughly an hours time. It's a great trail to get a little practice and conditioning. The trails starts at N40.895505, W111.844468 and intersects the main road at N40.915491, W111.813526 as can be seen on the map.

The video footage below was taken with a go-pro standard definition helmet cam. As I said, it's a really fun trail with some winding climbs, a few rocky sections, and some pretty good scenery. It's not a bad place to go for a short ride.

  1. Cool man, it's nice when there's no snow. It would even be better when there are leaves on the trees and flowers a bloomin'. Looks like a great ride.

  2. I really like this game, it really hits up my seat whenever I had time to watch this sport. Players had this very vast courage to perform some unbelievable stunts, very nice.

  3. Informative! Got idea about the landscape now. It would be thrilling biking experience here.
