Ted Nugent For President!

If you've never heard of Ted Nugent, getting into the world of the "motor city madman" can get a little crazy. I've been digging around lately, and found a few things I wanted to share. His obvious energy and live large attitude strikes a cord. If you have heard of him then you surely know how outspoken he can be sometimes with his political views and beliefs. The Nuge, AKA Terrible Ted, Whackmaster...Uncle Ted, has considered politics saying that "I was serious when I threatened to run for office in the past if I cannot find a candidate who respects the U.S. Constitution and our sacred Bill of Rights." Nugent is a family man and one of the few hard rockers who has admirably stuck by his lifelong anti-drugs and -drink stance throughout his career. Since the early 1990s Nugent has become both popular and criticized for his conservative beliefs and his anti-drug and anti-alcohol stances. He is a national spokesman for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program, advocating the "natural highs" to be found in an outdoor lifestyle. Nugent, an avid outdoorsman, may also be the Bronco’s best-known aficionado and has owned seven Broncos. He loves four-wheeling but does it in an ecologically responsible manner. “Even with my wild image, I have always supported the concept of treading lightly,” he said. “When I go off-road with my friends, we are no more disruptive on the trail than a herd of elk.” Nugent added that the Bronco represents a way to connect with the “spirit of the wild.” Born in 1948, he's still going strong, and because of his work with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and his advocacy for hunting, he has earned the respect of hunters across North America. Ted doesn’t just limit himself to music and hunting, he’s very outspoken when it come to other issues that hit close to home; including politics, the Second Amendment and crime.

Ted Nugent's claim is that he "has the American dream pretty much licked" Jay Deacon describes him this way: "What I liked about getting to know Ted Nugent a little better was that you can have differences, yet realize that we're all bound by the same common causes to be good, decent, hardworking, contributors, who want less burden of government. That's what makes Ted Nugent a spectacular American." Despite giving previous support for Republican candidates, he thought John McCain "to be catering to a growing segment of soulless Americans who care less what they can do for their country, but whine louder and louder about what their country must do for them. That is both un-American and pathetic". He supported John McCain during the 2008 Republican Party primaries, later saying that "John would bring about an enormous upgrade for quality of life in America overall". In his book "God, Guns, and Rock & Roll" he describes the benefits of gun ownership by responsible men and women who defend our rights and the safety of our communities. Other books include "Ted, White and Blue", "Kill it and Grill it", and "Blood Trails".

Even if you don't totally agree with Nugent's extreme views, and his somewhat abrasive way of getting his point across, he really tends to take us back to what "The American Dream" is all about. The freedoms that this Country was founded on are worth protecting. Some of us may not care about gun ownership, or even trail closures in remote areas, but eventually it will effect us all. If they can take these things, then what's next? Remembering what makes us Americans, why America is different and better than anywhere else in the world, and sticking to our values is our strength.

Here's a few quotes etc. from Ted Nugent. I apologize if they piss some people off, but within each one is a little comedy, a lot of truth, and maybe even some inspiration, but I doubt's mostly just for fun! Enjoy.

"If you kick major quantities of ass on stage, play with uninhibited enthusiasm, practice, and believe in what you're doing --- not because you're competing --- but because you can't wait to practice, then you're going to succeed."- Ted Nugent

"I still tour like a man possessed, because I am."- Ted Nugent

A fussy British liberal conducting an interview asked about the wildlife the avid hunter Nugent feeds on his land:

"What do these deer think when they see you coming? Here comes the nice guy who puts out our dinner? Or, there's the man that shot my brother?"

Nugent's priceless response:

"I don't think they're capable of either of those thoughts, you Limey asshole. They're only interested in three things: the best place to eat, having sex and how quickly they can run away..."

    Got my Vote!

    Ride on,

  2. "catering to a growing segment of soulless Americans who care less what they can do for their country, but whine louder and louder about what their country must do for them. That is both un-American and pathetic"

--I can completely agree with this. I think that a large percentage of Americans are completely apathetic to what goes on in our legislative bodies and what goes across Obama's desk. It's sad, really. And scary.

  3. Yeah, I hate how they have these pretty decent laws they pass with little bits of poo tucked in that nobody seems to know about. Even more, I hate how groups like SUWA portray their cause making it look like they are protecting Utah lands getting support from people that don't really know what they are supporting. Folks could be more informed, concerned and involved for sure.

  4. Please tell me it's not an April Fools Joke!!!
