Caineville April 2009, Part 1

Another near perfect trip to Caineville in the books! Although we did have a few mechanical issues, we managed to end the trip on a good note and return home having ridden ourselves ragged in some of the best and most beautiful terrain this world has to offer. We arrived Tuesday evening and rode as much as we could before the sun set, then set up our sleeping gear under the awning to enjoy the stars and cool night air. The next morning is when our mechanical issues began. Owen's KTM would not run, so the boys took turns on Brayden's DR-Z while we tried to figure out the problem. Luckily, Owen took right to the bigger bike and had a blast pushing his limits even further. Check out the picture below of Owen way up on the huge berm next to camp! After two nice warm days and a warm and windy Friday of riding, hiking, and otherwise living it up in the great outdoors, the DR-Z got a flat tire late in the day. Without a spare tube we were left to wonder what to do. I ended the evening Friday wearing myself out riding my bike after which we got together and decided to wake up early Saturday morning and go for a drive to find a tube and possibly find a way to get a working bike for Owen. One way or another, we ended up at the Yamaha dealership in Helper just as they opened, and one way or another, we ended up with a brand new 2009 Yamaha TTR 110 in the back of the truck. After considering stopping at Goblin Valley on the way back, we skipped it and returned to Swingarm City early Saturday afternoon. We spent about 5 hours Saturday afternoon and evening riding around as a family exploring canyons, ridges, hills, flats and any other terrain we could find. The cool evening and having the entire place to ourselves made for a memorable experience which we repeated again the next morning before packing up to head home. We got so many photo's and video footage that I wanted to hurry and post up our first few days of pictures and do some follow-up posts over the next few days, so please enjoy the pics below and check back later for more!
